What is Energy Monitoring?

Energy monitoring is the act of collecting real-time or interval energy data so that building resource consumption can be managed efficiently. Energy monitoring can be done in real-time when data is sent to a cloud-based energy management software that can be accessed from outside of the building. Energy monitoring helps you ensure that your buildings are operating as expected, and can mean monitoring electricity, water, or gas consumption

Why It Matters

Energy data is collected and used to monitor energy efficiency in buildings. Irregular spikes in energy consumption can be identified and addressed. If the data is connected to energy management software, property managers and building engineers can be alerted. Energy monitoring also helps building managers see how their efforts to reduce energy consumption are working.
