Operational Stray

Operational stray occurs when a building’s settings drift from the optimal configuration, leading to unnecessary consumption of utilities.  For example, a building would experience operational stray if an engineer sets an HVAC system to run outside normal hours to accommodate an evening meeting but forgets to readjust it when the meeting ends.
