Web-Enabled Meter

Web-enabled meters translate pulse outputs onto the web to a software platform. This allows information from energy, water, and gas meters to be accessible online instead of manually reading meters to access the data. However, these can sometimes be expensive because some web-enabled meters require hardwiring.

Why It Matters

Web-enabled meters are the first step towards transitioning utility data on the web, as opposed to manual reads that are error-prone. However, wireless meters provide a cheaper alternative for web-accessible data.
